Way too many hockey fights are nothing but some dancing and hugging with a stray punch. That was not the case when Mike Brown and Matt Hendricks dropped the gloves in Edmonton on Wednesday night.
San Jose right winger Brown is a former Oiler. Hendricks is one Edmonton’s of current tough guys.
The two men mutually decided to go after a face-off near the Edmonton net with under a minute left in the first period. Hendricks floored Brown early, but the Shark connected with a big left that snapped the Oilers head back and sent him to the ice.
Fans on HockeyFights.com thought Brown won late, but this was a pretty even fight.
Edmonton won the game, 3-0.
