Before Jered Weaver joins Angels’ teammates Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton in the franchise’s long history of players who haven’t lived up to their insane contracts, he needs to ditch his starter home.

Weaver, 31, recently listed his Mediterranean-style house in Orange County for $1,699,000. Weaver bought the home in 2010, but now that his full no-trade clause has kicked in, he is ditching it for a larger place in Westlake Village, Calif.

After all, Weaver has to find someplace to spend the $54 million in guaranteed money the Angels will pay him from now through 2016. He’s not spending it at the barbershop.

What does $1.7 million buy on the Newport Coast? A gourmet kitchen, open floor plan, outdoor fireplace, small pond and an in-ground spa. The property doesn’t have a whole lot of land, but it is private.

Highlights of Jered Weaver’s Orange County Home:

• 3 bedrooms, 3 baths

• 2,475-square-feet

• A hammock!

• 12 miles to California Girls nightclub

• 3.9 miles from Whole Foods

• 4.5 miles to Century Anger Management (just in case)
