Delmon Young signed a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. The signing was one of the O’s biggest moves of the off-season. Let that sink in.
While Baltimore invited Young to spring training to compete for the right-handed hitting side of a potential designated hitter platoon, the former Rays/Twins/Tigers/Phillies hitter showed up at the team’s mini-camp on Wednesday.
The big news: Young went bra-less (above). We’re thinking solid B-cup.
Once the No. 1 overall pick of the 2003 MLB Draft by Tampa, Young is still just 28 years old. The O’s like that about him best.
Via The Baltimore Sun:
“He’s still only 28 years old,” Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette said of Young. “But the thing he does well is he can hit when you need a hit in the playoffs and he has a very good record over his entire career against left-handed pitching. … Delmon is still a young guy. He is still relatively young. He still has good ability and some things he can do well to help the team.”
Right now, however, it looks like Young could best help the team set a record for crab cakes eaten at Faidley’s. O’s fans better hope Young hits curveballs like he hits buffets, otherwise they should keep Kendrys Morales’ number handy.
