The NHL season is long and forgiving for teams who stumble. Remember when the Flyers were a mess? Then this happened and the team rallied back into relevance.
Philadelphia beat Montreal 3-1 on Wednesday night to win its 10th straight home game. Old pals Brandon Prust of the Canadiens and Zac Rinaldo of the Flyers got to throwing punches during the contest. Prust won handily, but Renaldo stayed in the fight (above). It’s the fourth time these guys have scrapped, per HockeyFights.com.
Philly likely has no chance at catching Pittsburgh in the Metropolitan Division – they trail the Penguins by 15 points — but the Flyers have started to solidify a playoff spot, something that seemed unlikely two months ago.
