Basketball players are taught to never attempt to save a ball heading out of bounds toward the basket at which their opponent is shooting. Their own basket, though? All good.
Just ask Marvey’o Otey of William Byrd High School in Vinton, Va.
Otey chased down an errant outlet pass, flung it behind his back on his way off the court (and into the concession stand area), and the shot fell for a 3-point basket. He never saw the shot fall.
Byrd High School lost to Cave Spring, 76-69, meaning that when Otey is showing this clip to people when he’s 75, he’ll have to lie and say his team won.
