Ohio State Middle Fingers, ‘Bama Beats Auburn? & More — College Football Roundup
Rivalry Week in college football has not disappointed. Just amazing games.
Top-ranked Alabama fell to No. 4 Auburn, 34-28, when the Tigers Chris Davis returned a missed ‘Bama field goal 109-yards for a game-winning, game-ending touchdown.
Auburn tied the game at 28 on a 39-yard pass from Nick Marshall to Sammie Coates with 45 seconds to play. Incredible.
The Ohio State-Michigan game was also an instant classic, The third-ranked Buckeyes prevailed, 42-41, when Tyvis Powell intercepted Devin Gardner’s 2-point conversion pass with 32 seconds to play. You think Brady Hoke remembered that loss to Penn State earlier this season when he went for two?
The OSU-Michigan game also featured a fight in the second quarter resulting in the ejection of Buckeyes starting right guard Marcus Hall and kick returner Dontre Wilson, and Michigan backup linebacker Royce Jenkins-Stone. Hall’s exit gesture (see below) is already the stuff of legend.
Elsewhere, top-ranked Alabama and No. 4 Auburn, 28-21, in the Iron Bowl, and No. 24 Duke beat North Carolina to advance to its first ACC title game. The Blue Devils will face No. 2 Florida State, which crushed Florida 37-7.
More to come tonight with UCLA-USC, Clemson vs. South Carolina and Arizona-Arizona State.
