Kate Upton is truly a woman of the world. This week, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model is taking in the sights of the Melbourne Cup: Australia’s biggest horse race held every year on the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Victoria on the first Tuesday of November.
Sounds like more fun than Election Day, doesn’t it?
While Upton cavorted in the same circles as Australian “celebrities” (Lleyton Hewitt and some guy named Buddy Franklin), jockey Damien Oliver and Fiorente, under the direction of trainer Gai Waterhouse, won the race.
Red Cadeaux finished second by three quarters of a length with Mount Athos third. Verema, a French mare, didn’t complete the course and “is believed to have been euthanaised.” Let’s hope that’s not one of the race’s traditions.
As usual, Upton looked her glammed up best. She’ll be back to SI cover form by January.
