David Ortiz Soaked His $250,000 Necklace During World Series Celebration [UPDATE]
We received word this afternoon from the fine folks at Di Modolo jewelry that one of their very expensive pieces of art was around the neck of David Ortiz when he celebrated the Red Sox World Series title. According to Di Modolo, the necklace Ortiz was wearing is valued at $250,000.
The piece David Ortiz is wearing is the 18k White Gold Modolo chain necklace with pave white diamonds – 55.00 ctw.
We’re told that Ortiz owns the necklace ($111,000,000 in career earnings) and it wasn’t a loaner for the MVP ceremony or the champagne bath.
So to recap: David Ortiz had a monster World Series, he’s now a 3-time World Series champion, World Series MVP and went hard with a magnum of Ace of Spades while wearing a $250,000 necklace.
I’m still waiting to hear back from Di Modolo if they frown upon customers spraying the necklaces with champagne.
Update from Di Modolo: “We don’t frown upon it! Can be cleaned with an untreated cloth and if it is sticky you can use a little bit of soap and water.”
