Mizzou QB Maty Mauk Is The Next Johnny Football
Maty Mauk has attempted just 42 passes in his short college football career as the Missouri quarterback. He’s only played 4 1/2 quarters of college football and already has a fun hashtag, #Mauktober, that is the brainchild of Mizzou students and the distinction of being called “The Next Johnny Football” by Busted Coverage.
Mauk, a redshirt freshman, came in during the 4th quarter of the Tigers win at Georgia after James Franklin went down with a shoulder injury that is expected to sideline him at least a couple more weeks and possibly up to five weeks max. That means Mauk, who is from tiny Kenton, Ohio (just down a state route from where Ben Roethlisberger played high school ball), will start at home against South Carolina and Tennessee the next two weeks with the Tigers 5th in the BCS.
Huge exposure. Girls going wild. Legends created. SEC East title run.
With Johnny Football being much more cautious, AJ McCarron being corporate, Jeff Driskel on the DL, Aaron Murray sulking with three loses and Zach Mettenberger irrelevant, the SEC needs Mauk.
And Mauk (@MIZ_MAUK7_ZOU) has delivered the goods. Did Manziel ever take a photo in an “America Fuck Yeah” shirt and hat? Not that we know of. Does Manziel have an arrest for leaving the scene of an accident on his scooter? Mauk does. Has Manziel ever run from police on his scooter? Mauk did, according to cops.
Something tells us things are about to get real fun for Maty Mauk.
Have a Maty story we need to hear? Get drunk with Maty and have a classic drinking story that BC readers would like?
