The legend of Michael Jordan dies a little more every day. While his status as basketball’s G.O.A.T remains under assault by LeBron James, MJ has become a punchline due to his inept efforts as the owner of the pitiful Charlotte Bobcats. Sad, really.
Now, Jordan is auctioning his 27,000 sq. ft. Highland Park, Ill. compound we first told you about in 2012 — basically because no one thought it was worth the $21 million he was asking (which he lowered from an initial ask of $29 million). The place has nine bedrooms, 15 full bathrooms and four half-baths. There’s also a three-bedroom guesthouse and three multi-car garages.
Check Jordan’s spin on the auction via the Wall Street Journal:
“Some of the best things in the world are sold at auction, and I’ve seen that this is the beginning of a trend for selling unique, one-of-a-kind homes.”
OK, Air, whatever you say. …The New York-based Concierge Auctions will hold the auction on Nov. 22. There’s no minimum bid, but you have to cough up a $250,000 deposit just to bid.
