Jose Canseco, 49, Plays In 50 & Over Florida Softball Tournament

Once a cheater, always a cheater, right? Leave it to Jose Canseco, 49, to play in a 50 & over softball tournament at The Villages retirement village in Florida. ESPN lists Jose’s birthday as July 2, 1964.

A quick check of the rules at The Villages tells us who can play in the 50 & over games.

The Villages Recreation Softball Program is a program offered to residents of The Villages and is organized by VCDD Recreation Department. The age requirements to participate in senior softball are; a male player must become at least 50 and a female player at least 40 years of age during the calendar year to be eligible to play in Senior Divisions that calendar year.

So he was cheating?

Maybe they relaxed the rules for a celebrity player. Maybe the opposing team didn’t Google Canseco’s birthday. Whatever the case, Canseco (left) is playing in 50 & over softball, just crushing softballs thanks to those tree trunks.

We’re assuming The Villages didn’t test Jose or Ozzie for PEDs.

Jose Giving Softball Hitting Advice

  1. Bob Jones says:

Great journalism Joe! I never completed one journalism class in college but it only took me 3 minutes to look this up and figure out he was legit to play. Maybe it’s time for you to find a real job.

  2. getalife7523 says:

I’m assuming since this story is still running you have been fired for incompetence. You are a piece of work Joe Kinsey…do some research before you “report” a story. I even sent you an email and you are too much of a coward to respond.
