Rick DiPietro Selling Depressing Long Island Home For $5.9 Million [PHOTOS]

The Islanders aren’t the only ones bailing on Long Island. Former chronically injured Islander goalie Rick DiPietro just put his pimped out Upper Brookville, NY home on the market.

For $5.9 million, you can have a tech-controlled home with a wine fridge, home theater and salt water pool. You’ll probably be able to enjoy the home much more than DiPietro ever did, because you won’t have to deal with the pressure of being a No. 1 draft pick for a terrible NHL franchise.

DiPietro hasn’t officially retired, but the 32-year-old unrestricted free agent has yet to latch on with a team, and the NHL season is less than a month away.

Highlights of Rick DiPietro’s Long Island House:

• 5 bedrooms, 4 and 1/2-baths

• 2.11 acres

• 10 miles to Billy Dean’s Showtime Cafe

• 3.4 miles from Whole Foods

• 4 Hospitals within 7.0 miles

  1. Steve Webb says:

Terrible franchise? How many terrible franchises have 4 Cups, one of the best dynasty’s in NHL history and have arguably the best player in the game in John Tavares. Gets ur facts straight before calling a franchise terrible cause I believe the islandes came within 2 ot wins of beating the penguins, the nhls so called best team.
