Johnny Manziel was not found guilty, but he isn’t innocent, either.

The NCAA suspended Texas A&M’s reigning Heisman Trophy winner for the first half of his team’s opener against Rice on Saturday for an “inadvertent violation” of NCAA rules regarding autograph signing. …That’s it. Thirty minutes on the sidelines and all is forgiven. Pathetic.

The NCAA found “no evidence” that Manziel received cash for the hundreds of autographs he signed for sports memorabilia dealers who then sold the items. Sounds feasible: Manziel probably just wanted to help those guys out.

It didn’t take long for the hardest hitting analysts in sports to come down on the Johnny Football ruling, evoking Terrelle Pryor, Dez Bryant and Reggie Bush in their scathing critique of NCAA rulings.
