Following tradition, the Chicago Blackhawks have been doing just about everything with the Stanley Cup. The ongoing adventures of hockey’s most prized trophy are chronicled by “Keeper of the Cup” Philip Pritchard, whom we assume has a killer frequent-flyer account.
Over the weekend, Blackhawks’ winger Marian Hossa took the Stanley Cup to his native Slovakia, where he felt compelled to eat pierogies out of it. Judging from the photo above, it looks like Hossa boiled the pierogies and tossed them with butter and onions right in the Cup. Traditional as hell. Good on you, Hossa. Hopefully some halupki made it into the trophy later.
We’d love to see the pictures that Pritchard hasn’t made public. He probably has a whole memory card from Kane alone.
