Chad Lorkowski is 6’2″ and weighs 210 pounds. As a power-hitting first baseman and pitcher, his size might make him an attractive MLB draft pick, except that he’s only 12 years old. Brady Hoke better get to this kid fast.
As you can see in the video above, Lorkowski, who rolls by the nickname of Swag Daddy, is the Andre The Giant of Little League and the star of the Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores (Mich.) team. It’s almost not fair. If Swag Daddy makes contact with a ball, it’s just about gone. He’s about the size of Kevin Youkilis.
Lorkowski is headed to 7th grade this fall; he wears a size 15 shoe, and he plays basketball because of course he does. He’s probably like Kevin Durant with that kid at camp this week.
Swag Daddy will lead the Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores (Mich.) team against the Jackie Robinson West (Ill.) team in the Great Lakes regional finals in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon. The winner gets a trip to Williamsport, Pa. for the Little League World Series.
Too bad Fox doesn’t do the LLWS. Seeing Swag Daddy next to Ken Rosenthal would be hysterical. He’ll look funny enough standing next to Nomar Garciaparra.
