Texas A&M Football Player Killed In Crash Trying To Drive On ‘No Sleep’
Texas A&M defensive lineman Manukainiu Polo was killed along with two friends in a car crash on a New Mexico state route after trying to make the drive from Utah to College Station on no sleep.
Polo (@ManukainiuPolo) tweeted on Monday:
“22 hour drive back to Texas on no sleep. Oh my.”
Gaius Vaenuku and Lolo Uhatafe were also killed in the rollover crash. They were high school teammates of Polo’s at Euless Trinity High School.
According to New Mexico media, there were five people in the vehicle and two were ejected.
State police confirmed three teenagers died in a rollover crash on US 550 at mile marker 83, just north of Cuba.
A fourth person has been airlifted in critical condition. The condition of a fifth person is unknown.
Police say the ages of the teens who died were 13, 18 and 19.
