Mike Miller had a pretty interesting week. The shooting guard got amnestied by the Miami Heat Tuesday afternoon (even though team president Pat Riley said he wasn’t going to do that). On Wednesday night, Miller attended his foundation’s House Party in Sea Ranch Lakes, Fla.
There must have been some seriously awkward conversations around the fondue pot.
To help raise money for his foundation, which “provides aid to disadvantaged or disabled children,” Miller is raffling off a custom Can-Am Spyder with a Miami Heat paint job. It is autographed by the entire 2011-12 team. So much for keepsakes from his time in Miami.
Miller’s Spyder is a pretty sweet ride, but considering the more you zip around on it, the greater the chance that you’ll screw up the autographs is, it will probably wind up in someone’s man cave.
Can’t feel too bad for Miller. He’ll pull in $12.8 million regardless of whether or not he latches on with another team for 2013-14. That sort of cash should buy plenty of those hairbands.
