Manny Ramirez’s Taiwanese team, the EDA Rhinos, threw Manny an early birthday (May 30) party on Sunday during a home game where everyone, and we mean everyone, wore dreads to honor his 41st.
The trainers wore dreads. The broadcasters wore dreads. The coaches wore dreads.
And Manny serenaded himself by leading “Happy Birthday” before telling fans that the Rhinos “have a game to play.”
Ramirez, who looked to be finished with baseball, is actually flourishing with the Rhinos. His stats: .344, 7 HR, 32 RBI and 45 hits in 35 games. It’s not like he’s facing Kershaw every night, but still.
The Rhinos finished off the ceremony by playing video of Manny’s son sharing a few kind words about his father and Manny crying.
