What did we tell you? It was just a matter of time before the Fox Sports 1 scouts started poaching from Boston’s deep pool of sideline reporters. Fox Sports 1 announced Thursday that Molly McGrath, the former Boston College cheerleader and Celtics’ in-game host turned CSN New England reporter, had signed on as part of the FS1 team.

The network said McGrath will work as an update desk and news correspondent. McGrath joins Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews in FOX Sports’ powerhouse of female sports talent. The new 24-hour sports channel will debut on Aug. 17.

McGrath worked her way into the FS1 gig. Being attractive and young didn’t hurt, but she certainly didn’t have the glamor roles in New England sports journalism, which can be a decidedly old boys’ club.
