Recent Browns free agent signing Quentin Groves didn’t wait long to disappoint his new team. Late last night Groves was busted in a Northeast Ohio hotel room on solicitation charges. The big fella responded to an ad which offered “full-service” prostitution. Guess that sort of thing is frowned upon these days.
Groves allegedly agreed to a price for sex acts on a call before arriving at the hotel — one hour of time for $100 with an additional $20 for a particular sex act – and became one of 14 men arrested as part of the operation. The report also states that $195.70 and a box of Magnum condoms were seized as evidence in the arrest.
Did the cops really need to seize his box of Magnums?
The best part about this arrest was that it occurred during one of the Browns mini-camps. You can’t blame Groves for wanting to unwind after some early mini-camp action. It’s a real shame the cops had to blow up his spot like this.
This arrest came only a few weeks after the Cleveland Plain Dealer was singing Groves praises:
He will serve an important role behind the scenes. Groves will help in the Browns’ transition to Ray Horton’s 3-4 defense after playing under him last season in Arizona. It was obvious that Groves clicked with Horton.
Poor Cleveland. And to think it will only get worse tomorrow after they draft Geno Smith in the top 10.
