UFC on FOX 7 offered up a flurry of knockouts during both the preliminary bouts and the main card in San Jose on Saturday. Eight fighters won their bouts by KO, though Benson Henderson had to gut out a split decision over Gilbert Melendez in the main bout.
Early in the afternoon, former Cuban Olympian Yoel Romero took out Clifford Starks with a flying knee in the first round. The impact of Romero’s knee into Starks’ head caused the crowd to react both as it happened live and when the replay was shown inside the Shark Tank.
Later, Josh Thomson returned to the UFC with a TKO of Nate Diaz at 3:44 of the second round. It’s the first time the scrappy Diaz has ever been knocked out, but the kick that Thomson delivered was lethal. Check the GIF and then view the Vine below it to see it in slow motion. Six other fighters, including Chad Mendes, also won by knockout on Saturday. Whose knockout did you think was most impressive?
