Miami Marlins’ pitching prospect Jose Fernandez is young and talented. He’s making his Marlins’ Park debut tonight. The emphasis is on young, because Fernandez puts on his warm-up jacket while running the bases with all the dexterity of a second-grader. During Saturday night’s game with the Philadelphia Phillies, Fernandez singled — his first career major league hit — to drive in Adeiny Hechavarria and the give the Marlins a 1-0 lead. When the rookie attempted to put on his jacket while standing on first base, things didn’t go so well. Watch the GIF below:
The Marlins and the Phillies are tied, 1-1, in the seventh inning. Let’s hope for safety’s sake that Fernandez is not a hitting prodigy, too.
