Welcome to the NHL, Eric Selleck. The 25-year-old tough guy made his NHL debut last night at Carolina and nearly made it through the Panthers 4-1 win without getting knocked out. Selleck decided he wanted to make a splash in his first game with 2:58 remaining by picking a fight with Kevin Westgarth.
Wrong move, rookie.
Two punches later and Selleck needed to find the game highlights on the Internet because he wasn’t remembering a thing. It’s not like this guy is some rookie who hasn’t dropped the gloves. He has racked up 181 PIM this season with San Antonio of the AHL.
His official NHL line: 1 game, 17 PIM & being helped off the ice after getting KO’d.
