Miss Florida 2012 Laura McKeeman Is New Padres Sideline Reporter

We once called Laura McKeeman “The Next Erin Andrews.” She’s Miss Florida 2012. She’s dating Colorado Rockies infielder Josh Rutledge. And now comes news to us that McKeeman will be your 2013 Padres sideline reporter.

Yesterday’s Padres game just happened to be on the office television when I caught McKeeman giving a report about something that wasn’t really that important. The face looked familiar. The name was familiar.

But where was our old friend Britt McHenry, the Padres 2012 sideline reporter? It seems she lasted two weeks on the job in San Diego before returning to Washington D.C.

As for McKeeman, her profile at Fox will be increasing over the next few months. Besides the Padres work, she’s also covering Pac-12 basketball games.

Here was my McKeeman scouting report from 2011: “Already at Fox Florida, could expect move into big leagues by 2013.”
