Is Wisconsin’s Ryan Evans Serious With The Jump Shot Free Throw?
This video is on pretty much every sports blog on the internet, but I thought Ryan Evans and his jump shot free throw needs to be addressed.
Evans is shooting 41% from the line this season. That’s pitiful.
BUT! BUT! BUT!
He’s only shooting 39% from the field. Oh, it gets better – he’s just 2-of-23 from 3-point range.
Evans told the Madison newspaper that he’ll stick with the jump shot free throw after going 2-for-2 last night against Nebraska. But we all know that’s a disaster waiting to happen. What happens when he goes cold on the jump?
When you’re only shooting 39% from the field, we like the 41% FT average and would wait out the funk. It’s not like he’s always been horrible from the line. Last season Evans shot 73%.
“It worked tonight, so I’m going to keep it going,” Evans said. “It felt good. I feel a lot more confident out there.”
The only positive for Wisky fans is that they won’t have to worry about Evans being on the court shooting free throws in a tight game with 1:00 left.
