Giants Fan Beats Up Wife, Shoots At Cops After MNF Loss To Redskins
You know who didn’t handle Monday night’s loss well? Richard Braccia. Braccia, an Ocala, Florida resident, is a huge fan of the New York Giants and upon the completion of Monday’s 17-16 loss took out his frustrations on his wife and the local police. The 50-year-old Floridian might not be watching another Giants game for a very long time.
Braccia is charged with three counts of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery and tampering with a victim.
While Braccia said he doesn’t remember much about the incident, he said he remembers this much: He was drinking for roughly four hours. He said he has been a New York Giants fan for roughly 30 years and was upset that the Washington Redskins had beaten his team during the Monday Night Football game.
Braccia said he doesn’t remember hitting his wife, or talking with her or deputies. He said he panicked and the next thing he knew, he was shooting.
Braccia is one haggard looking fifty year old. Our bet is that upon toxicology reports, something more than alcohol and pain killers might make an appearance. But wait! There’s more!
Shortly after midnight Tuesday, Braccia’s wife called 911 saying her husband was battering her. While talking with a dispatcher, she said he was in a bedroom loading his firearms, described as an AK-47, a shotgun and a 9mm handgun.
An AK-47?! Florida never ceases to amaze us. Also noteworthy is that Braccia lives in a home owned by his sister. He is “not in a good spot right now” and according to law enforcement officials is on suicide watch. Gulp.
