Jovan Belcher Tweet

We woke up to see some pretty horrible news this morning out of Kansas City. Fourth year linebacker, Jovan Belcher has reportedly shot and killed his girlfriend before taking his own life at the Chiefs team facility. Details are still relatively hazy as information continues to flow in. Our hearts go out to the Belcher family, the Chiefs organization and anyone that was involved, directly or indirectly in this tragedy.

Belcher, a fourth year pro out of Maine, started all 16 games for the Chiefs last year and had started in 10 out of 11 games this season. According to KansasCity.com:

The first shooting was reported about 8 a.m. at a home near 54th Street and Chrysler Avenue. The second shooting was reported a short time later at the practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.

We pulled some tweets from local and national reporters that have been breaking news throughout the day.
