Texas High School Punt Blown Backwards For Safety! [VIDEO]

Why is a Texas high school football game between the Guyer Wildcats and the Nelson Bobcats going viral? As dumb as it sounds, because of a punt. Its rare we see a punt get as much press as this one, but the currently unidentified Nelson punter deserves all the attention he’s getting.

He lined up at their own 27-yard line, wound up and somehow the ball ended up in his end-zone 15+ yards behind where he was kicking. No it wasn’t blocked. No it wasn’t a bad snap. The Texas wind was a little more active than usual and sent that thing in the opposite direction.

Of course, being Texas, God had to come into play. Guyer quarterback Jerrod Heard said this gem to a local reporter:

It was very weird, and from the grace of God those balls bounced our way and those safeties really helped us.

The game ended up being a 53-28 Guyer HS victory. You know…because of God.
