College football kicked off last night with a bang. The South Carolina-Vanderbilt game was a good one, but who would’ve thought that the Kent State-Towson game was going to steal headlines. Sophomore linebacker Andre Parker thought he was just doing his job covering a punt. For whatever reason, he bugged out, scooped up the ball and began running in the opposite direction! Twitter lost its sh*t!

An honest mistake on Parker’s part, but we gotta side with the confused/angry tweeters on this one. This might be the first and only time Kent State was trending on Twitter. Hell, it might be the most publicity the school’s received since the 1970 shooting.

They won the game with ease, cruising to a 41-21 victory, so maybe Parker’s mishap was a blessing in disguise. Getting the MAC some love on national TV rarely happens, so hats off to Parker!
