Minor league football player John Taylor is nicknamed the house…and for good reason. This big fella comes in at 6’11″ weighing a whopping 500 pounds. The Central Penn Piranha just became the most well known team in the history of the Gridiron Developmental Football League. Anytime you trot a guy out who outweighs the heaviest NFL player in history…by 90 pounds…you’ll open some eyes.

Taylor plays defensive tackle for the Piranha, and is strictly plays in short-yardage situations. At 500 lbs. it’s a feat in and of itself just getting this monster out on the field.

The Piranha are undefeated in the 2012 season at 10-0, so they can afford to use him sparingly. The GDFL playoffs begin Saturday and it will be interesting to see if House gets some action! Want to know more? Here’s the scoop.

  • Went to college at Virginia Union (Same school as Ben Wallace!)
  • 35-years-old
  • Has only recorded 3 total tackles the entire 2012 season
  • Only 1 sack too!
  • “House” says: “People expect super-human things. I’m still human.”
