Can FSU’s Marissa Hughes Go From Hooters Waitress To Next Erin Andrews? [PHOTOS]
Last fall, I just happened to be with business partners in the Tallahassee Hooters on the Friday before the Oklahoma-FSU game. There was the usual small-talk with the waitress that turned to her career aspirations – to become a sideline reporter. She gave us her name but it was lost somewhere during the drunken weekend. Flash-forward to this afternoon and the discovery that Hooters waitress Marissa Hughes is an aspiring sideline reporter.
We’re reunited!
Now, before any ESPNU sideline reporters get intimidated, Hughes is still in school learning the sideline craft. Of course there’s the side job at Hooters and bikini contests that chew up time, too.
Marissa Hughes Fact Sheet:
• Tallahassee
• Florida State student – Go Noles!
• FSU Communications & Sport Management major
• Hooters job
• Loves baseball
• Loves the Rays
• Hates the Yankees & Red Sox
• Only 136 follows – @MarissaEliseH – go follow, you morons
Estimated Hire Date At ESPN or Fox: 2015-ish
This is a raw talent. Hughes can obviously light up a room and has command of eyeballs. You could throw her on one of the Fox regional stations and ratings for football games would be insane. Nobody watches Tulsa vs. UTEP for a reason – the lack of a Hooters waitress on the sideline.
Expert Analysis:
Look, we can’t honestly evaluate Hughes until we see the audition tape, but if Brent Musburger or Bobby Petrino are anywhere near the hiring process, Hughes gets a job – soon. The great news is that she already has the keg, bikini and Rays bat photos on the Internet. It’s all about the buzz, ladies.
