It’s all the rage this morning. A single police scanner feed has changed the way social media enjoys a championship celebration thanks to #LexingtonPoliceScanner and the UK students who made it so damn enjoyable. At one point last night, #LexingtonPoliceScanner was trending worldwide and turned dispatchers into instant celebrities and cops fighting to regain calm into heroes.

Couches burning, naked men running through the streets, kids passed out all over the streets, people burning whatever they could find. This was obviously the coming out party for police scanners as a cog social media entertainment world.

Good work, Kentucky. You’ll always be remembered fondly.
