Pats Release Guy With Logo Shaved In His Head Night Before Super Bowl
Receiver Tiquan Underwood was a media darling at the Super Bowl all week.
Underwood was the New England Patriots receiver with the high-top fade who got the team’s logo shaved in the back of his head. We say was because the Pats cut Underwood Saturday, just one day before he was set to make his Super Bowl debut.
The team added defensive end Anthony Silvestri to the active roster after Underwood’s release.
Although we’d call it a cruel (and really shitty) twist of fate, Underwood took it in stride. He tweeted the following message after getting the news.
I Been Thru A LOT…But There Are Ppl In This World w/ More Serious Problems So I Cant Hang The Head….Thank You Lord #Blessed
Good Luck To The New Enland Organization, The Coaches, & All My Teammates… #PatsNation
To say dude is keeping things in perspective is an understatement. We’d be fucking irate, but we commend Underwood for handling the situation as well as he is.
We also think Bill Belichick, who we were just beginning to think was a human being, is a bigger dick than ever.
Underwood, who was picked up by the team in August, played in six games for the Patriots this season, catching three passes for 30 yards. He spend his first two NFL seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. His release means Chad Ochocinco might actually see the field on Sunday.
