Walt Weiss was never much of a baseball player. The shortstop never hit over .290 in a career (made just shy of $20,000,000 in MLB) that spanned 14 seasons. He did win a Rookie of the Year award in 1988 with the Oakland A’s, though. Weiss also made a brief stop with the Florida Marlins before finishing his career with the Colorado Rockies and Atlanta Braves.
It was when was Weiss was being overpaid ($2.2mm) by the Rockies when he purchased this spread in Castle Rock, Colorado. We say spread because it sits on 73 acres. Oh, and it has it’s own baseball diamond. You know, for when you and the boys get together and want to play nine.
What else is going on with this house? What is that, a two-story family room? Pool with waterfall? Basketball court?
