Detroit Tigers’ Post-Game Celebration, Best Of [Photos, Video]

The Detroit Tigers vanquished the New York Yankees last night, winning their ALDS series in five games with a 3-2 win in the Bronx.

The victory was sweet for Detroit, but it was also sweet for baseball fans who hate the Yankees big-spending ways. The poster child for the Yankees’ excess, Alex Rodriguez, was 0-4 and struck out to end the game.

Meanwhile, the Tigers, who will face the Texas Rangers in the ALCS, celebrated like mad men.

Of course, we’ve culled the best photos and one awesome video to give you a feel for what it was like. The wee lad you’ll see in the pictures is Victor Martinez Jr.

After the game, Tom Verducci was trying to interview Tigers closer Jose Valverde. His teammates were trying to celebrate and Verducci got a blast to the face.

Climax of Video: Verducci gets blasted in the face with champagne at near point blank range. His hair doesn’t move.

Conclusion: Someone could have lost an eye here. Fortunately, no one did.
