It seems odd to think of a dude they call Bullet Bob and wrote songs like “Hollywood Nights” and “Turn The Page” crying about much of anything, but then we really have no idea what it’s like to be from Detroit.
It turns out Bob Seger is a really big Detroit Lions fan and as you may or may not have heard, the Lions haven’t been any good at football in a really long time.
Things are beginning to look up in the D, though.
The Lions are 2-0 and the team has stars like Ndamukong Suh, Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford that are turning the locals into believers. Hell, Detroit might even have a shot at the playoffs this season.
There’s nothing like the threat of success to bring the local celebs out. Seger, as well as Kid Rock, were spotted in the Lions’ locker room after the team dismantled the Chiefs last Sunday.
The event had Seger acting like a little girl.
Something had changed, and Kid Rock and Bob Seger felt it as they stood outside the locker room like the groupies that follow them. The double doors opened, a security guard whisked them in, and 10 minutes later, Seger emerged with an autographed football and what appeared to be a tear streaming down his face.
“We’re on our way now!” the aging rocker said.
“It’s great, isn’t it?”
Man. Makes us glad we support real football teams.
