Mason Brodine is an undrafted free agent from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He’s fresh out of college, never played on ESPN or in a bowl game. He doesn’t even really have a player profile page on Raiders.com. The guy wasn’t even allowed at the University of Nebraska Pro Day. Seriously, not allowed to show his skills at the state funded institution.
But here he is today on BC showing off his rookie hazing haircut.
“Lamarr Houston got me pretty good. I don’t know if he had anything in mind, but he got me pretty good,” Brodine said after practice yesterday. “I went willingly. I knew it was coming.”
There were a couple of other rookies to get a cut, but nothing compared to Brodine.
As for other teams giving haircuts, at least one NFL coach (Jack Del Rio) has banned haircuts as a form of rookie hazing. Go figure, the team drafted pretty boy Blaine Gabbert and those flowing locks. “The whole thing really had gotten carried away in recent years,” Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio told reporters this week.
Meanwhile, it doesn’t appear Brodine minds the hazing. It just might be the most attention he ever gets the rest of his NFL career.
Is there a NFL rookie hazing haircut we need to see? Send it in. A new Fryar Tebow?
