17 years have passed since Jalen Rose was photographed in his red draft day attire. Yesterday, the ESPN analyst added to his Google Image search results with an orange jumpsuit mugshot that TMZ immediately slapped with its watermark. But don’t cry for Rose, who’ll be serving somewhere around 18 days for his DUI conviction. He won’t get the normal inmate treatment at a suburban Detroit jail.
The Detroit News had reporter loafers on the ground as Jalen jogged into his new home.
Rose, dressed in a red T-shirt and white shorts, was dropped off by a driver about 7:30 a.m. outside the jail’s bonding and release entrance.
Head bowed, he quickly jogged past the media to be processed and became one of 1,500 inmates.
“I guess he pulled one of his NBA moves on you guys,” Capt. Barry Zeeman said at the jail. “How do you miss a guy who is 6-foot-5?”
Rose will be provided with traditional jail garb and is expected to be segregated from the general population.
Jalen’s original sentence was supposed to be 93 days but that was lowered as long as he stays out of trouble. Ahh, but Guyism was keeping Twitter tabs of an incident early Monday morning when Jalen just might have been clubbin’ with Braylon Edwards.
Allegedly. You know, someone’s Twitter account was probably hacked or it was just a case of misunderstanding.
