Kordell Stewart had this to say yesterday on Twitter regarding his arrest this week on speeding and driving with a suspended license arrest: The arrest has open my eyes about staying on top of my automobile issues with a closer eye. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Time for The Smoking Gun to update its athlete arrest mug shot collection!
According to media reports out of Georgia, Slash was doing a little speeding Wednesday when cops pulled him over.
Stewart, 38, of Atlanta, came to the attention of Alpharetta traffic patrol as they allegedly spotted his car speeding, traveling 60 mph on Windward Parkway, which has a 40 mph speed limit.
Stewart said he was on the phone and wasn’t paying attention to his speed. A check of Stewart’s driver’s license showed he had a warrant out for his arrest, after failing to appear for court in Conyers. His license was suspended since July of 2010.
Who are we to judge Stewart’s ability to keep track of warrants? Never had one and not sure how this all works, but don’t you get something in the mail that says ‘WARRANT’ on the front? Or don’t you get a phone call to your agent? And dude doesn’t pay attention because of a phone call?
Dude could remember a playbook and play 11 NFL seasons at the QB position, yet doesn’t know there’s a warrant out for his arrest? That’s shocking.
I was unknowingly driving with a suspended license due to a traffic ticket for tinted windows.
What a complete buzzkill. A mug shot for failure to pay a tinted windows ticket. Weak.
