(Disclaimer: We know cops. We have family who are cops. We know excellent cops. We know asshole cops. We have been around cops our entire lives.)
Now, that we’ve gotten that out of the way let’s get down to business with what happened this week during the Mexico vs. Venezuela friendly in San Diego.
The fans got all boozed up. We know that. BC has done its YouTube research of the scene at Jack Murphy and can confirm that the SoCal Mexicans were in rare form.
Now let us show you how one San Diego cop tried to arrest a drunken fan.

Premise of Video: (via vlogger) When I got there, it looked like two guys (obviously drunk) were about to start fighting. So the police tried to intervene. The had one guy under control but the other one tried to get near the guy being held down. At that point the second officer, tried to push the other guy back but when he didn’t do as he was told, he tried to take him down. The police guy started punching him on the face and then landed a couple elbows on this guy’s face. The guy at that point looked like he was just trying to protect himself – remember he was drunk so I’m sure he wasn’t processing things the same way. Then the police guy put his arm around this guys neck to try to subdue him and you can tell in the video the guy was giving up. At one point you can see the guy raising his hands to show the cop he’s going to start cooperating and at that point the cop decides to smash this guy’s head on the concrete (the sound that his head makes when it hits the ground was nasty). At that point the guy stops moving (his head starts bleeding immediately), the cop is able to put the handcuffs on him then he yells at him “Put your hands behind your fucking back”.
Climax of Video: Focus on the :25 mark. The cop has the choice between putting the guy’s behind his back or slamming his head (with serious leverage) against the concrete. Guess which one this guy chooses? Yes, that is the dude’s head hitting the concrete. Listen to the woman’s reaction in the background.
Conclusion: This is complete bullshit. Of course there will be the racist folks who find this video perfectly suited for their racial beliefs. And we can’t stop that. What needs to be said is that the cop acts like a fool. We’ve literally watched hundreds, if not thousands, of police/fan/drunk confrontations and can’t remember a single incident where the cop has a guy in a choke or slamming his head into concrete. Think what you want. We’ll think what we want. Fair?
