5 Questions: Taryn Manning Gets Naked For Playboy & Tells Us She’s Not Shy About Sex, Her Father Is Turning In His Grave & Likes Quirky Techies Like Spike Jonze

Welcome to the old, but new “5 Questions With Busted Coverage.”

It’s our feature where actual celebrities, members of the elite media, athletes, strippers, etc. chat with our gaggle of reporters. Yes, we do get the chance to rap with famous people and figure you’d enjoy the questions we throw their way.

Busted Coverage “5 Questions” editor Joseph Student took time out of his busy schedule to file this report.

(Yes, we asked extra questions.)

From acting to DJ-ing to music, Taryn Manning has more talents than most people in the entertainment business. As it turns out, she also looks great naked.

Manning, whom you may know from the TV series “Hawaii Five-O” or “Sons of Anarchy,” from the film “8 Mile,” or from fronting electro-pop duo BoomKAT, appears on the cover of the April issue of Playboy, billed as the title’s “Sex and Music Issue.”

The actress, who is in the cast of the upcoming feature film “Manson Girls,” reveals all in a six-page nude pictorial with a retro vibe to it. Manning also speaks candidly about sex and other matters in an interview, including this tidbit:

“I’m not shy about sex.  I enjoy being a little out there with a Flip camera sometimes…I want to be sexy.  I want to be a one-woman show.”

We asked her our own questions:

You are hardly anonymous, but being in Playboy must afford you more exposure than you have ever had before (see what we did there?). Explain what it is like to find out you’ll be — and then appear– on the cover of that magazine; is it something you ever expected to do, and how comfortable are you being naked in your daily life?

“The initial reaction was excitement rather than anxiousness. I second guessed if I should because my first thought was of my grandma and brother coming across it at newsstands; not to mention my father is probably turning in his grave. But more than anything, it’s Playboy and it’s iconic. I am more than excited to be a part of its history. And as for being naked, I’m more than happy in my ‘birthday suit,’ but I’m no nudist either ;)”

Your “Manson Girls” character shaved her head and cut an “X” into her noggin in real life to support Charlie. Ever done anything that crazy?

“I’ve never done anything that crazy for anybody else’s sake but since I’ve been young, I’ve never been afraid to just fly the finger and get crazy with my style. I’ve always thought Natalie (Portman) rocked a shaved head like a badass, but I’ve never thought about doing it myself. It could have something to do with what I think is my oddly shaped scalp, though it would be pretty awesome to have a band named after my shaved head (Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head).”

You have worked with Eminem and Britney Spears, who are two big, sexy music names: Who is the sexiest personality you have ever worked with, music acting or otherwise, and why?

“Clean tie between Jude Law and Eminem. I think that speaks for itself.”

In addition to the musical side of your career, on the acting side you play a “Manson Girl” in a new film, as well as Cherry in “Sons of Anarchy.” Do all these rock stars, cult leaders and biker gang characters make you attracted to ‘bad boy” types, or just the opposite?

“Just the opposite; I like quirky techies who keep it funny and light. I’m not opposed to a tat or two, though. I’ve always thought that Spike Jonze was a perfect marriage between the two. I have a soft spot for music lovers! “

Male rock stars getting female groupies is a cliche. As a female musical performer, do you have the opportunity to have male groupies, have you ever indulged and have they ever done anything that’s been funny or weird or borderline criminal to get your attention?

“I got a gigantic sized box sent to my house that freaked me out a bit, definitely had to make sure that it wasn’t ticking. Good thing it ended up being my beloved life-sized unicorn, which actually ended up starring with me in the Playboy shoot!

And you always get the kooky letters in the mail, but nothing that’s stalker creepy, thankfully.”

You were a state champion in karate. Do you still train, and whom do you think would win a fight between Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris and Jackie Chan?

“Definitely, still training in karate. It’s a skill that you don’t really forget, like driving stick. And as far as the fight goes, obviously Bruce Lee; have you seen his movies!?! “
