Cuff 'Em: Service Dog Must Go To Prison After Owner Gets Time For DUI!

Kathy E. Kata, a 49-year-old hearing impaired woman from Meriden, was sentenced to four months in jail Wednesday after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, her second alcohol-related driving arrest in the span of a year. Prior to sentencing Kata’s attorney Jennifer McMillan asked Middletown Superior Court Judge Susan Handy to allow the defendant to bring her 13-month-old service dog Victory to jail with her.
