Porn chicks that are Utah fans this morning  – Kayden Kross

Yes, we’re hurting this morning after college football and Thursday night beer collided.

Add in staying up late for the Utah-Pitt game and you have the makings of a rough first half for this Friday. We also noticed this morning that USC didn’t exactly shutdown Hawaii (49-36). Oh, and before we forget, how bad is Minnesota? Going on the road to Middle Tennessee State and squeaking out a 7 point W?

Lots of dog football last night and VS. comes through with the one everyone was watching. Isn’t it time ESPN quit putting South Carolina on Thursday nights? C’mon already. Enough of Spurrier. We get it, he was good back in the 90s.

    1. GopherFan says:

Hey J Poot – here's an idea. How about you get a clue, and then, after that, go fuck yourself?

    2. J Koot says:

      Gopher,

Make a bowl game and come back to talk shit. Keep squeaking out those games against MTSU, SDSU, USD, etc.

    3. GopherFan says:

We've gone to a bowl game each of the last two years (and 9 of the last 10), you fucking imbecile. Call that what you will, but "bad" is certainly not it. Also, MTSU won 10 games (and a bowl game) last year. How many teams beat a bowl champion on the road in the opening weekend? Without looking, I'd say 5 maximum. We also have the #5 toughest schedule of all teams in the country this year, but of course an idiot such as yourself would only look at SDSU, MTSU (does not even remotely belong with the other two), and USD (whom we will beat by 5 TDs minimum this coming weekend, by the way) and ignore USC, Air Force, Northern Illinois, and Cal on our non-cons the last two years (all returning bowl teams). Are you legitimately this obtuse, or is it just for satirical purposes? If the latter, then bravo.

(P.S. Minnesota has 6 national championships. I don't follow this blog, so I have no idea where your rooting interests lie, but it's safe to assume your school has less. You'd probably know that if you took a second to come up for air every so often while you're bobbing on SEC knob.)

    4. J Koot says:

      Gopher,

Seriously? Defending a perennial 6-5 or 7-5 team sans the 10-3 season?

Dude, isn't it time to expect more?

How are things under Brewster? How many coordinators has he gone through?

    5. GopherFan says:

By saying that, you've already backed off and admitted calling them "bad" was off base. You still haven't given credit for what was almost certainly the best road win in week 1, though.

And yes, the Gophers are mediocre, and outside of a truly bad season here and there, have been so for 40 years. If you want to toss around "bad," save it for teams that truly are, like Indiana, Washington St., Baylor, Mississippi St., Vandy, etc. I will not abide my school being lumped in with that group. The University of Minnesota fans expect better, and we will get there. Rome wasn't built in a day.

And things are much better under Brewster. We beat 3 teams that were .500 or better in the Big Ten, something not done at the U in decades. We play a top 25 schedule in terms of difficulty every year, while we played patsies in almost every non-con game during Mason's regime. And while we have gone through several coordinators, all but one (Dunbar, who was fired) left for jobs elsewhere (Withers to UNC, Roof to Auburn, Fisch to the NFL). So how is that Brewster's fault?

Of course, given that you are paid (presumably) to write about college football, I shouldn't have to tell you these things. It's just plain laziness on your part. Not only do you not know anything about the U, you also know nothing about MTSU and marginalize them because of their conference affiliation. It's my own policy to not comment on things I know nothing about, but apparently that's just me. I'd rather you not mention my school at all than post this trash.

    6. J Koot says:

I could argue with you until the Gophers go 6-5 again. I'll tell you what, come back in late November and tell me if the season was a success.

    7. GopherFan says:

So – no recanting of an obviously incorrect post? So professional – and classy, too. This website is very lucky to have you as a "writer".

    8. J Koot says:

If you want professional and classy, go visit ESPN.

Ok, to make you feel better BC will say that Minnesota is a .500 team that is consistently a doormat for the upper class of the Big Ten.

    9. GopherFan says:

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people read these comments. You will not change it in the body of the text.

Oh, one more thing – what purpose does it serve to be snarky and "cute"? Save the vitriol for the loser/cheater coaches, players and fans who actually deserve it. Does it make you feel better about yourself to belittle amateur athletes who show up and put in their best effort every day? I will admit that I talk trash about other schools, but it is in fun and in the context of a rivalry. It is not in the guise of what should be a professional setting on a widely-read sports blog. Grow up.

P.S. What is your school? I'd really like to know.

    10. J Koot says:

Gopher, please don't use the word professional when referencing this blog.

We actually don't like such words.

You want to know what school I root for? Ohio State.

But you won't see me going all fanboy on this site because I'm here for fun, not to get all stats-y on readers.

I'm not a dick. Trust me. There are far worse on the Internet.

    11. GopherFan says:

Shooting your mouth off about things of which you know nothing – that's quintessential dick behavior!

You could have picked any number of teams to rip on from the first night of game action. Of all teams, you pick one that actually won. Tell me how that makes any sense.

While we're at it, tell me which of these is "bad":

      – beating a 10-win bowl champion on the road, in their own stadium

      – T.O.P. 45 minutes and change

      – rushing for 281 yards

      – starting the season 1-0

      Yeah, pretty terrible, isn't it?

Oh, by the way, you can't have it both ways. Any sane person would read that sentence and assume you were being sincere. You can't say things like that, and then when called out on it, say "Oh, I was just joking, don't take it seriously." If I authored posts on a widely-read blog and said something stupid like, "The Rockies are on a 5-game winning streak, what a terrible baseball team," I'd damn sure better be ready to defend my stance. Anything else is just plain lazy, not to mention pathetic.

Just because you're here for fun doesn't give you the right to make blatantly false statements and then disavow credit for them by feigning satire. I probably just used about 15 words you don't understand, so sorry in advance for that.
