It seems that the post-game handshakes between Oregon and Boise didn’t exactly go as planned. Smack talking RB LeGarrette Blount didn’t enjoy last year’s beating in Eugene. Um, this year didn’t go much better so he punched a guy from Boise.
And fought with teammates. Fans. And had to be restrained by police.
Video after the jump.
On the streets he could have been arrested. Instead he’ll probably be getting a few weeks off for this display of stupidity.
Enjoy your senior season, douche.
Blount also went after some Broncos fans.
His actions were caught by the ESPN cameras and replayed many times for the national audience.
“I just apologize to everyone that was watching this,†Blount said. “I just apologize to all of our fans, all of Boise’s fans. I lost my head. … A few guys wished me a good game, a few guys pushed me and I just kind of lost my temper.â€
And it’s usually not good when the media is asking police if they plan to arrest a player.
Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said there were no plans to arrest Blount because no criminal complaint had been filed.
“He is getting on the team bus and he is headed back to Oregon with the team,†she said. “… The chief (Mike Masterson) said these matters are handled by coaches, athletic directors and the NCAA.â€
Whatever NFL chances Blount had might have just been wasted on a non-conference game in Idaho.
Oh, wait, there is one team out there who would be interested if he doesn’t mind living in Ohio.
