Texas Tech Needs 17,000 Fans To Break ESPN GameDay Crowd Record, Lubbock Prepping For UT
Is it possible to round up 17,000 + hungover Texas Tech fans at 9 a.m. (CST) this Saturday for ESPN GameDay’s visit to Lubbock?
The university is going to try, attempting to break an unofficial record held by Nebraska fans, says a Tech official.
“We like to say everything is better in Texas and bigger in Texas, so we would certainly like to have that new record,” said Blayne Beal, a Tech athletic department spokesman told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
But this huge goal could be derailed by the fact that students have already started lining up for game tickets and as of yesterday 700 of them were camped outside the Tech stadium.
Oh! Now it’s up to 800!
This will be the biggest game in the history of Lubbock, Texas.
Locals are even offering up empty houses. Bring your own air mattresses, says the Craigslist posting.
If an empty house isn’t your thing, here is a cheap alternative.
I have a double size fold out couch available for use this weekend for the UT/TTU game for a mere $200 that includes bath, kitchen and laundry facilities.
Good times in Lubbock.
