EKU Footballer Evades Police, Severs Lady's Thumb

BC continues to say it. These college athletes just don’t have the damn money to get by at school. Just take a quick look at our Cuff ‘Em collection. Scholarships just aren’t worth as much as the old days.

Take the case of Davin Walker at Eastern Kentucky University. He plays football and felt the need this summer to shoplift at his nearest Wal-Mart. Loss prevention officials go on a foot chase with the wide receiver.

We figure Walker is good for a 4.4 40, while the tubby guards are likely in the 5.2 to 5.5 range. A woman and her thumb get in the way. A finger is severed. EKU is now likely without a receiver this year. It’s all over in a flash.

She went to Wal-Mart to shop. But instead, police say a central Kentucky woman lost part of a finger, all because of a shoplifter.

She was just in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Police say the shoplifting suspect, 22-year-old Davin Walker, ran into the woman Thursday afternoon, in the parking lot of the Richmond Wal-Mart.

\’);Of course EKU had no comment on the situation. Walker is still listed on the football Web site. We’re guessing a two-game suspension is in order. Now if the woman would have lost her entire hand we could see losing a whole year.
