Homework My Ass, I'll Torch That Ponytail!

This report from Newsday goes down as one of our favorites. It seems a Milford, Connecticut high school student didn’t care for her science teacher’s ponytail and decided to torch it with a lighter.

The hair arsonista has been expelled but has a career in pyrotechnics. “A police spokesman says Lardas did not require medical attention, but his hair was singed,” according to the Newsday story.

Poor George Lardas is in his first year of teaching at the school district, according to the New Haven Register. “Appropriate consequences have been issued, which include suspension and expulsion,” said Superintendent of Schools Harvey B. Polansky.

There’s no word on how much growth Lardas lost. We can only assume he’ll have split ends.
