The Las Vegas Review Journal is reporting Vegas sports gambling officials are expecting a record-setting rake this year as two high profile teams prepare for Super Bowl XLII.

Matt Youmans, friend of Busted Coverage, has the financials on the biggest day of the year for Vegas books.

With two weeks of hype to follow, the wagering handle in Nevada could reach $100 million for the first time.

“I’m very confident this is going to be a record-setting Super Bowl,” Las Vegas Hilton sports book director Jay Kornegay said. “People are very intrigued by the Patriots’ perfection and their run at history.”

New England has been ice cold covering, going 2-8 over its last 10 after starting out perfect, 8-0.

The always popular prop bets are slowing making their way to the betting public.

Kornegay said the Hilton plans to post about 300 proposition bets on the Super Bowl by Tuesday night.

New England, in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in seven years, is about a minus-500 favorite on the money line to defeat New York. Support for the underdog is anticipated.

BetUs has released a few of its props including “Will there be a safety in the game,” sitting at -3000 No. Bodog has a nice selection to choose from. Tom Brady is a 1/2 favorite to win the MVP Award.
